OVERVIEW OF IOS
The office of Inclusive Services supports students with intellectual disabilities to attend college alongside their peers without disabilities!
Students receiving services from the OIS:
- Are working towards a Comprehensive Higher Education Certificate
- Earn letter grades in their classes and have official transcripts
- Take two traditional college classes in line with their career goals each semester
- Take a course called College and Career with a curriculum designed to launch them into directing their own life
- Live on campus
- Participate in weekly team meetings
- Learn to pass their drivers permit
- Work on and off campus
- Attend campus activities, join clubs and participate in sports
- Attend small groups to learn to problem solve and manage social situations
- Meet in budget groups to learn to use banking apps and manage their money
- Create a Capstone Project that advances their career goals
- Work with staff to plan for a vibrant and successful life after college
